1. Who is responsible
kumbhmela.guru is owned and operated by Swara Yoga Peeth Sansthan, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India. We are the data controller for the information described below, handled in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
2. What we collect
- Updates registration: name, email, optional phone, country, and your chosen interests.
- Kumbh yatra registration (Join Kumbh Mela): name, phone, address, state, city, district, PIN code, chosen Kumbh, and tentative arrival date.
- Technical data: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request logs (IP address, user-agent, country) for security and performance; we store the user-agent and country with registrations for abuse prevention.
- Site analytics (first-party only): we record which pages are visited, how far they are scrolled, which sections are read, approximate location (country/city from Cloudflare), device type, operating system, browser and IP address — kept 60 days, used only to improve the site. No third-party trackers or advertising cookies.
- Brahma AI chat: to start a chat we ask your name, email and phone; your questions and the answers are stored (with the technical data above) so our team can improve the seva, and your end-of-chat feedback (ratings and message) is kept with it. Chat content is processed by Google's Gemini API to generate answers.
- Yatra travel details: check-in/check-out dates, arrival time, transport mode, stay preference and group size that you (or our team, at your request) add to your registration.
We collect nothing else. No payment data is collected anywhere on this Website.
3. How we use it
- To contact you about your Kumbh yatra registration, as promised on the form.
- To send you the Kumbh updates and weekly newsletter you registered for.
- To grant you access to the forthcoming Kumbh app when it is ready.
- Never for sale or sharing with advertisers. Data may be shared only with the Sansthan's own service providers (hosting, email delivery) bound to these purposes, or where law requires.
4. Where it is stored
Registrations are stored in the Sansthan's secure cloud storage (Cloudflare, encrypted in transit and at rest) and, on your own device, in your browser's local storage as a backup of your submission. When the Kumbh app launches, registrations migrate into its system under this same policy.
5. Cookies & local storage
This Website uses no advertising or tracking cookies and no third-party analytics.
- Local storage: your registration submissions are kept in your browser's localStorage (keys
kumbh_registrations, kumbh_yatra_registrations) so nothing is lost; you can clear them any time from your browser settings.
- Cloudflare cookies: our host may set strictly-necessary security cookies (e.g. bot protection). These are essential and contain no profiling.
- Fonts: pages load fonts from Google Fonts; Google receives the standard technical request data for the font files.
Because we use only strictly-necessary storage, no cookie-consent banner is required; this notice serves as our cookie policy.
6. How long we keep it
Registration data is kept until the relevant Kumbh concludes and its follow-up communication is complete, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever is earlier.
7. Your rights
You may ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete your registration data, or to stop contacting you (every email will include an opt-out). Reach us via the registration page; a dedicated grievance contact will be published with the Kumbh app, as the DPDP Act provides.
8. Children
The Website is intended for adults arranging pilgrimage; please register on behalf of your family rather than for children individually.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above will change accordingly.
